The monthly Investor Confidence Index (ICI) showed a 17% increase in confidence for the next three months, said president Kanate Wangpaichitr. Foreign investors are also concerned about the global tension in geopolitical conflicts, commodity prices and Thai economic growth. "We think the central bank will review inflation conditions after the first half to decide whether the rate need to be raised," Mr Tada said. He said recent defaults on bills of exchange (B/Es) are not a concern because they account for a small portion of the bond market. "The total value of the defaulted B/Es, including the cross-default, is only 5 billion baht, or 0.17% of total corporate bonds in the market," Mr Tada said.
